Our Amazing SEE Camp Instructors in Mountain Lakes, NJ:

SEE Camp employs a highly qualified staff with expertise in areas that range from education to recreation to cultural activities and the arts. Our staff of professionals has worked diligently in the off season in order to provide a top-rated program to our campers this summer. We look forward to working with your children!

Chris Patrick, our Camp Director, enters his 19th season at his post. He previously filled the position of Recreation Director from as early as 1993. A high school social studies teacher and track coach, he has taught courses at the Gifted and Talented Institute. Chris is a graduate of Albright College, in Reading, PA and holds a Master’s Degree in Education Administration.

Our Science department is once again directed by Marie Stelling, who enters her 13th year with SEE. Marie holds her MS in Chemistry and is currently a physics teacher at Pompton Lakes High School. Prior to entering the teaching field, Marie was a research scientist for Hoffman LaRoche and the CIBA Corporation. Marie also teaches at the Gifted and Talented Institute.

Directing our Project Discovery will be seasoned teacher and former SEE Counselor Bobby Hebenstreit. This is his second summer in this capacity. Bobby is a high school history teacher but he also wears the hat of a tech guru!

SEE Camp welcomes back Truc-Lan Vu our Theater Director for the fifth summer. During the school year, Truc-Lan is third grade teacher in Summit. She brings her love of performance and experience as a school musical director to our show. We look forward to singing and performing with her!

Art Director, Judith DelRio, a seasoned art teacher, returns to SEE Camp for her 17th summer. Judy has previously served as Visual Arts Specialist at the Essex County Junior Academy.

SEE is pleased to welcome back new and returning counselors for another fun summer! Those counselors include Chatham elementary school teacher, Lindsay Flanagan, Glen Rock middle school English teacher, Scott Hebenstreit, and Abby Geddes, who is currently studying to be a teacher.

Certified Yoga Instructor, Annie Dugan will be leading yoga.

Summer 2020 Sessions

Session 1:

June 29 – July 10 2020

No session on Friday, July 3 2020.
Deadline: Registration and final payment must be received no later than June 11.

Organized activities and classes: 9AM to 4PM

  • 2 hours of science and Project Discovery activities
  • 2 hours of sports, games, and swim
  • 2 hours of theater and arts

Before and after care is available: 7:30-9:00AM and 4:00-5:45PM.

Includes Educational Field Trip To:

The Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum

SEE Camp takes pride in providing truly exciting, memorable, and educational field trips. We offer one field trip during each 2-week camping session, with no additional charge for admission or transportation. Chartered buses are fully air-conditioned.

The Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum in one of America’s leading historic, cultural, and educational institutions. The museum is centered on the aircraft carrier Intrepid, one of the most successful ships in U.S. history, and now a national historic landmark and one of the most unique attractions in New York City. The museum features a range of interactive exhibits and events providing a snapshot of heroism, education, and excitement.

Session 2:

July 13 – July 24 2020

NJ Marine Consortium at Sandy Hook

SEE Camp takes pride in providing truly exciting, memorable, and educational field trips. We offer one field trip during each 2-week camping session, with no additional charge for admission or transportation. Chartered buses are fully air-conditioned.

Explore the seashore and salt marsh environment by collecting and exploring marine organisms and ecological concepts. It’s summer camp at the beach plus a whole lot more! Campers will love discovering just what the most productive ecosystem on earth – the salt marsh – has to offer. They will also love seining, sieving, shell collecting and hiking in this very special environment. A food web and watershed activity will also be included.
